Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel established in 1741 is located about 15 kms from Kashid. Korlai is a secluded village which was under Portugese rule before the Portugese where defeated by Marathas. Korlai is the only place where 'creole' a dialect of Portugese mixed with Marathi is still spoken. One can visit the church along with a visit to the Korlai fort and lighthouse. From the church one can see the thick walls of the Korlai fort on the hill stretching from the main land into the sea.
